As a social worker for more than a decade, I know the strain this career can put on a human.  I’ve worked across the field - Community Mental Health, CPS worker, substance abuse, prison therapist, even in private practice and medical social work.  I dreamed of creating Just a Social Worker as a way to provide “pro” social work products, items, and support to celebrate and uplift my fellow social workers.

I remember the first time I was called “just a social worker.”  My client was very upset with something I told him.  At first, I was upset and hurt by that assumption.  Then, I decided to own it.  We, as social workers, work hard to advocate for others.  We are rarely the most popular person in the room.  Many of us are not in this profession for the money - and it’s argued that we should be paid and supported much more than we are!

Each product we offer is either handmade by our team, another social worker, or a woman-owned business.  Our goal:  Offer a variety of products that have a unique story, are sustainable, are responsibly produced, and help all of us rise.
